Clogau Lady of Caerphilly Collection
Based on a medieval story of love, beauty, and betrayal set in the late 13th century. Princess Alice of Angouleme married to Gilbert "the Red" de Clare, whose unrequited love for Gruffydd, Prince of Brithdir, caused his betrayal to her husband by a monk, and ultimately his death by Gilbert's soldiers. When news reached Alice she died instantly and since that time the people of Caerphilly have seen her in the castle dressed in a green robe. She is said to hide herself as ivy around the castle.
The green emeralds, ivy leaves, and beauty of these unique pieces sees this tragic tale immortalised in elegantly entwined gold.
